Las Fritas

Borja Martínez opened his first fries business at a La Barceloneta, at Passeig Joan de Borbó. Because it was in a place that was a former "churreria" (the place where sell churros) made people from teh quarter think it has some relationship, but no... It was only a mad guy loving fries, but good ones, because you can eat there homemade fries and very well done: crunchy outside, creamy inside. Price is related, but quality explains all.

And some months ago it was born a sister of La Barceloneta kitchen at Born.

At carrer Argenteria, Las Fritas turns into a bar where, anybody can eat fries with a surprising peanut sauce…

… or others with chili with meat (and Santa Pau beans) or Roquefort sauce…

… , or with all i oli (amb textura de pomada, com m’agrada) o salsa brava (homemade, with the dry flavour of dry peppers)…

… or with cheese (mixture of Cheddar and Emmental), melt on the top…

… or with sausage (delicious and not fat at all)…

… or with Padrón peppers…

… or with egg…

… or with iberian cured ham…

Lots of chances and combinations.

And there is more than potatoes, Las Fritas from carrer Argenteria offers tapas as croquettes…

… amongst them, the ones remarkable are the croquette of txipirón (small squids): at eating, it seems to eat a creamy txipirón!!!

Also, there are delicious cured ham croquettes…

… and some made with mushrooms.

The olives dressed with cummin are delicious…

… as well as Gildas.

And if you are a Mahor beer lover, you can find the Cinco Estrellas and the Maestra.
