"De Tapes per Barcelona" - 8th edition

Its gone the first week-end of "De tapes per Barcelona" 8th edition and the first sensation is this edition level is very high.

Obviously, there was no time enough to taste everyone, but the ones that seemed the most interesting:

1) Causa Limeña - Tanta (c. Còrsega, 235): excelent tapa and one of the candidates to be the winner of any prize. There is a clever condensation of a traditional Perú recipe in a miniature dish. One of the unmissable of this edition.

2) Squid sandwich - Cèntric (c. de les Ramalleres, 27): art from simplicity. The squid ink bread is the continent of Andalusian style squid (not greasy) and a refreshing lime mayonnaise. It worth be in a good place.

3) Eggplant mille-feuille with cod and spinachs "pilpil"- Marzán Bodegón del Norte (c. València, 207): when this restaurant make a tapa using cod, it is sublime. It is a balanced tapa and one of the most generous.

4) Cheese bread with truffled Picanha Tataki - Cafetarium (c. Tallers, 76): it was a surprise to find so Brazilian recipes as cheese bread (pão de queijo) and Picanha in a so different preparation: bread of sandwich and at japanese style, respectively.

5) Mini-hamburguer with caramelized onion and goat cheese - Taverna del Bisbe (Av. Catedral, 6-8): one os the classics in this tapa route, "La taverna del bisbe", participates with a very good tapa, but in a preparation that was excessively used these years: the mini-hamburguer.

6) Prawn canoe in a red sea - Alsur Cafè - Palau (c. Sant Pere més Alt, 4): good tapa, but not convincing enough for being one of the winners.

7) La diosa navarrica - Telefèric (Pl. Letamendi, 27): it has been the biggest deception this edition. "Telefèric" is a renowned restaurant, but finding a flat Gyoja on the sauce, nothing similar to the promotional picture... But, very good taste.
