La Monroe de la Filmo

Last Sant Jordi's day (april 23rd) I had the chance of visiting again La Monroe de la Filmo (Pl. Salvador Seguí, 1 - Barcelona). This time, I was with my wife. And it was confirmed what I saw during my first visit and what I follow at social networks: in a time where people talk about Slow Food, La Monroe de la Filmo is a case of (not only, because it is a twin sister of Las Fernández, at c. Carretes, Raval) what it could be named Good Mood Food. Because when you finish eating there you feel a good mood, that is a reflection of good work environment in the team.

And food... sincerely, it is the best quality-price relation anyone can find in Barcelona. It is very difficult to find restaurants with a so exclusive treatment of product with a price of 10,90 € lunch menú (2 dishes, bread, drink and dessert).

Crispy chicken fingers with guacamole: extraordinarily crispy but not dry. A llitlle bit spicy. And not fat at all.

Tomato and tuna belly salad: great products!! It is difficult to find a so entire tuna belly (quality) on a salad without it being a very expensive dish. The tomato, awesome.

Steam cooked dogfish with clams: so soft, so delicate!

Pork steak marinated in Teriyaki with potato and pumpkin purée: delicate taste and not dry. Right cooked steak!

Brownie: for my taste, there was a little lack of fruit (coulis) at the side, but it wasn't heavy. Good!

Catalan ice cream: very good! Creamy and there was a burned sugar crisp that was not hard.

Conclusion: go to La Monroe if you still want eat right, enjoy and all by a pretty good price.
